"I thrive on the seeming purity and astonishing clear headedness provided by icy climes."

This is quoted from a fashion blog.. And I agree! I loved Japan's weather when I was holidaying there in December last year.. Need I say what I think about Singapore's weather? It's bloody lot hotter these days.. Scary to think of how global warming's effect can be so direct.. Hooray, the world's gonna end.. Haha.. So what are we gonna do about it? *Linkin Park's 'In The End' starts to play* 'And in the end, it doesn't even matter'... Lolz..

Anyway, the idea of the world coming to an end makes me realize that I don't think I've watched, or known of a movie which shows what everybody in the world will do if the world were to end on that one day.. But I've read a story about that before.. It's in this collection of thriller stories, and the book is entitled 'Duel'.. The story 'Duel' was made into a film itself some time back.. And as for the story about the day on which the world would end, it fascinated me the first time I read it.. I read it some years ago.. And the reason I think it is fascinating, is not because I'm sadistic yeah.. But it's because I had never read such a story before.. And let me tell you briefly about it: The people in the story were taking different decisions on how they should lead the last days of their lives. There was this group of people who gathered in an apartment, and had sex with one another, exchanging partners in doing so. 'Whoa' huh.. People were -randomly- shooting each other on the streets too.. And there was a character in the story who went home, though he hadn't gone back home for some time, I think.. And his elder sister and her own family took sleeping pills, I think.. It's not supposed to be just a sick and depressing story though.. They took the pills in a calm state of mind, it was their decision to just go that way.. And then, there was the mother of the main character who just went out on to the house porch to sit.. And she just watched the blazing, gigantic sun in the sky.. That's the indication of the world coming to an end.. And what the main character did was to step out onto the porch to sit beside his mother.. A rare story..

Maybe movies should explore the human things and other not-so-human things that we humans will do if the world were to end on a particular day.. And not just show all the incredible things to be the cause of the world's end.. And I'm not talking about those perfectly realistic and relevant issues like environmental problems.. I'm talking about seeing aliens coming to destroy earth in movies.. Take for example, Independence Day..

But! I can't wait to watch 'Transformers'! Haha.. It's by the director of 'Pearl Harbour', Michael Bay.. 'Pearl Harbour' has made me quite a fan of Michael Bay.. And the special effects in 'Transformers' look impressive, from what I've seen in the trailer.. It must have taken some work to have those robots' transformations look like that! They look complicated, and the detail is really quite a sight..

Such a movie is acceptable to me, coz I'm more interested in robots.. Machines.. I feel it's relevant.. We're in the modern era.. And technology reigns.. I've always been much interested in things like artificial intelligence.. Sounds cool right? Haha.. I also like the idea of Machine-Vs-Man.. Contrasting subjects always attract me somehow.. But the idea is interesting in itself.. Machine-Vs-Man.. Like, cold hard steel versus the flesh of mankind.. And I wonder if man is really as tender-hearted as he is supposed to be in comparison with a robot.. But, consider movies like 'Artificial Intelligence'.. I never gotten round to actually finish watching the movie yet.. But the boy robot, as acted by Haley Joel Osment, makes a lovely child in the movie.. If a robot can learn to love, robot really win liao lor.. Ahaha..

But I don't think our generation is the time we can witness the big futuristic changes.. No glass cities, with modes of transport weaving in and out among the curvy glass buildings.. But of course, to do away with natural greenery would be a bad thing.. But I wish I could see the futuristic world with my own eyes! Will futuristic landscape be as cool and sleek as we imagine? But of course, it's gonna present problems of its own era.. And somemore, there's the general idea that the world today is constantly deteoriating.. Wahaha.. :P

Oh, I wanted to add that monsters are not half as bad as aliens.. Think of movies like 'Van Helsing'.. Goth like that is in a league of its own, and such visuals are mystifying, as well as beautiful in its own grotesque way.. Goth is grotesqueness with a history.. Which can make quite amazing visuals.. It's fantasy.. I sometimes go for historical fantasy, and other times go for futuristic stuff.. But just how can I make a case for aliens? With goo dripping from their mouths, and their meaningless deformed bodies? Lolx.. Well ok, E.T. is cute.. Haha.. Aiya, after all this talk, I'm just excited to watch 'Transformers'! Ok, Goodbye! Till next time

/ believe in wonderland,
with you in my mind
it's not that hard to believe
i'm in wonderland
and that's where I am
only a place to where we know
and never escape into reality
plunge into a fantasy

just about my love
