I've watched "Daisy".. A Korean movie, filmed by the directors of "Infernal Affairs" and "Initial D".. It has components of romance, and that of a thriller.. They focused on making the scenes stylish, pretty and with an element of foreboding.. The element of foreboding is there because the love story does not have a happy ending.. Let me give you a brief of the plot, what happens is, there is a cop and an assasin in the movie.. These two guys fall in love with the same girl.. Ain't the world so full of cliches by now?? Haha.. Yet the plot of "Daisy" is not all that cliched.. Quite a beautiful story actually.. As I said, I think the producers of this movie focused on bringing out the beauty for this movie.. And it really is quite unique when they combine beauty with the danger of having a cop and an assasin.. That would darken the beauty somewhat, yet the contrast can also serve to emphasize it.. Initially I would have said this movie is just average, but there are still a couple of things which much credit can be given to.. This movie is filmed in Amsterdam, and you can count on the scenes to be really quite artistic and pretty.. Check out the pretty picture below.. With blood splattered on the painting too.. Intriguing right? I love things that have such a different take.. Anyway, the movie is not bad! I recommend it! (Though I'm not saying I 'highly recommend')

Cldn't find the fully coloured version of this picture.. The fully coloured one is prettier.. But this one is a unique still too

Oh I also want to talk abt the female actress in the movie, Jeon Ji Hyun.. Another picture-perfect female.. Both beauty and grace 100% perfection.. I quote another recent example, Eva Green in "Casino Royale".. Both girls fall into water in the respective movies.. Still can look perfect.. Haha.. I haven't gt that much to say abt this nw, my mind is distracted and wandering to another occupation.. But their utter perfection is just something one will wonder abt.. And u can't imagine any of these female characters ever slipping on a banana peel or something.. Haha ok! On with talking abt sth else..
Oh and, with regard to the many cop and assasin shows there are around.. I watched the Golden Horse Awards yesterday, and I was thinking to myself.. What's with Hong Kong's (and a number of other countries too) obsession with movies abt cops and thugs and what not? I think Hong Kong must have a number of more meaningful shows, but it's such that Singapore's cinemas show more of the cop movies than the meaningful ones.. Once again, this is all about the money earnings, isn't it.. But cop-and-villain movies are acceptable if they try to tell us something about the idea of good and evil.. But there shld be more refreshing takes on good and evil too.. Not necessary for a cop to always represent 'the good', and the villain to always represent 'the bad'.. Perhaps "Infernal Affairs" owe much of its fame to the fact that its plot subverts things too.. The 'good' cop goes undercover as a gangster, and the 'bad' gangster on the other hand infiltrates into the police force.. I still love part 1, I quite like part 2, but part 3 was too complicating for comprehension.. Perhaps it can be said that it got too ambitious by part 3! But maybe I'll rewatch part 2 and part 3..
I'm interested in the movie called "Sheng Xia Nian Hua" the Golden Horse Awards had brought up.. Movie about youths, is it? Looked like it.. I wonder where I can source for more of such movies on youths too.. On the angst of youth, youth's cry of freedom, youth's energy and vibrance(i.e. youth's youthfulness? =P), youth's apprehension abt the future as an adult.. And I think I know the strongest argument supporting why some ppl still say being a youngster is better than being an adult, despite our teenage angst.. That wld be bcoz while we're young and still studying, we can aspire to have any career we dream of having.. But the time comes for dreams to be shattered as we become adults.. Coz qualifications and all wld have been attained, and should they be below society's requirements, the time for us to accept a job (one which we never have thought we wld have to accept) for the rest of our lives, for real, would have come.. How could we hold any more dreams and aspirations then? Ok, let's leave off this depressing topic for now yarh! >_<
I'm wondering if I can film a short clip abt youth with a digicam or sth.. Hmm, wait till I come back from my Japan trip first! Oh and, that guy actor in "Sheng Xia Nian Hua" they briefly showed in the Golden Horse Awards show, he looked so much like Won Bin in that one scene! How I find this movie leh..=/ But still can watch Aaron Kwok's "After This Our Exile" in theaters! Yeapp
