Life Lesson for today:
HEELS CAN KILL.
Lolz.. The high heels I wore for the graduation high tea today were the first pair I ever bought, and being the first pair, it wss quite ambitious of me to have gotten that kind of height for the heels.. But I really like the design, so I still bought it lor.. And from now on, I will never wear this pair of heels for more than 4 hours.. And I guess for today and tomorrow, I will be quite lame.. Hahah..
Today was quite an enjoyable day though! I mean, after the graduation high tea actually.. The high tea was alright, but I can't say it's very memorable.. Other than the excitement generated due to ourselves and everyone else dressing up more than usual, there wasn't much else to it right? But Mrs Wee and Mrs Wan were veeery cute.. Once again, they put so few bartley teachers in the performance..*makes a face* And the food was actually real good! I loved the chocolate eclair so much, but I only got to eat one! Went back a little too late, and the deserts were all gone =/ The videos didn't exactly make me feel touched.. But I wld still give credit for all the effort put in of coz.. The songs which were playing(whether in the videos or during the breaktimes) were actually particularly chosen with the coming of our 'A' levels in mind.. They were pretty apt songs, though a lil old fashioned.. The venue of this high tea itself is truly quite a good venue..=)
I like the quote on my badge from Mrs Koh: "I have found that if you love life, life will love you back. - Arthur Rubinstein" What a great quote.. Wonder if Mrs Koh decided on the quotes for each of us thru observation of every one of us.. Do I come across as someone who loves life then? Hmm.. I've been told by ppl that I'm always smiling.. I do try to love life.. Make the best of it is what I do..
Anyway, after the high tea, went out with a few gd friends to Orchard.. Didn't do very much, but it was a good night out.. Definitely so much better than being stuck at home with the company of just notes and more notes.. First we went to Shaw Centre's highest floor and ate at the wide wooden tables there.. I've wanted to eat there.. There's a gd variety of small fast food outlets on that level.. And the Lido atmosphere is nice too.. Unique.. And I found that Shaw Centre does have nice clothes! Clothes that cld have been worn on the occasion of today's high tea itself.. Oh and, I also reccomend the shop U.R.S., cos that's the place I bought my shoes from.. They have pretty shoes..
Then after eating at Shaw Centre's top floor, we moved on to Tcc.. What a great place.. I've wanted badly to drop by Tcc too.. So today I did quite a no. of things I've wanted to do..=P Tcc will be one of my favourite places from now on.. I really like the atmosphere.. So neat and trendy! I feel light-hearted sitting in those well lit, neat-looking places.. I drank the Iced Mon Cheri, and my other friend drank this drink called Peach Me Up.. Lolx.. And in the end, we switched drinks, cos the coffee taste of mine was getting bitter whereas my other friend's drink was getting to be too sweet.. So once we switched our drinks, we could neutralize the taste quite well.. Ahaha..
So yep that's it! Nothing much to add already.. But you know, when I reached home, my dad was watching tv and the Singapore Idol commercial then came on, and the song "Go the Distance" came on again.. The song was also played during the high tea.. I do like the song.. The lyrics are pretty motivational.. And so I think I shall put them up here.. I want to go thru the lyrics once more.. Good luck for the period of mugging to all..*big smile*
I have often dreamed
Of a far off place
Where a hero's welcome
Would be waiting for me
Where the crowds will cheer
When they see my face
And a voice keeps saying
This is where I'm meant to be
I'll be there someday
I can go the distance
I will find my way
If I can be strong
I know every mile
Will be worth my while
When I go the distance
I'll be right where I belong
Down an unknown road
To embrace my fate
Though that road may wander
It will lead me to you
And a thousand years
Will be worth the wait
It might take a lifetime
But somehow I'll see it through
And I won't look back
I can go the distance
And I'll stay on track
No I won't accept defeat
It's an uphill slope
But I won't lose hope
Till I go the distance
And my journey is complete
But to look beyond the glory
is the hardest part
For a hero's strength is measured
by his heart
Like a shooting star
I will go the distance
I will search the world
I will face its harms
I don't care how far
I can go the distance
Till I find my hero's welcome
Powerful lyrics indeed.. It's what I wanna be capable of.. Creating powerful works like this.. Hehe yeppp
Oh wait, before I end off, I just got another nice song into my com.. It's entitled "Maybe", and sung by this singer called King, I think.. I heard this song on Youtube.. Yeah, I do discover some nice songs from Youtube.. That's cos fan videos have songs that go with them.. You can check out the song if u want, it's pretty nice!
"Maybe it's wrong to say please love me too
'Cos I know you'll never do
Somebody else is waiting there inside for you
Maybe it's wrong to love you more each day
'Cos I know it's here to stay
But my love is strong
And I don't know if this is wrong
But I know to whom you should belong"
- Chorus of song "Maybe"
And just some extra info here, this song was chosen for this fan video of yet another male character in this korean drama, who is not able to get the girl he loves.. Once again, cliche cliche cliche.. But I think such a character will remain very marketable.. Male characters who sacrifices so much for the girl they loves, but does not get their love returned, will always have the most female fans.. You can take my word for this..*grinz* I'm speaking from a lil personal experience here.. Ahem.. Lolz.. But I dun quite like it when such male characters kinda half-hate the female love interest due to being rejected for far too long.. It's not the girl's fault.. But I guess such feelings may be natural.. Anyway this particular drama the fan video came from is gonna be aired on Channel U soon.. It's the kdrama "Princess Hours/Palace".. This drama won an art award of some kind, cos it had scenes of the korean palaces, and is really quite a different drama from any other.. I've watched a few scenes of it, and it's quite nice, though it can get draggy.. But one of the male leads had caught my eye quite early, which is why I know a lil something abt the drama even before Channel U has shown it.. I put the link for one of his videos a few posts before this what.. Handsome fellow..0^.^0 ........Wow.. I can crap a lot huh..
Ok, Bye All!
