Not so much in the blogging mood these days, but I reccommend Neil Gaiman's journal to you.. He's a writer, and I've read three great graphic novels by him so far.. He comes up with the storylines for the graphic novels, and they're dark and filled with mystery.. It makes you quite uncomfortable to read his works but you will still be attracted.. That's what I think..^^
Tell you abt one of his stories now? This story is abt the devil actually, but it's tells of what happened when he had been one of God's angels, Lucifer. The story begins with a murder that took place in heaven.. Let's call the murdered angel James, and the murderer Jason becoz I've forgotten the names in the book :P God then creates an avenging angel to take charge of the case, in other words, to find the murderer and deal out the justice. This avenging angel then questions the different angels, one of them being Lucifer, who sometimes displays weird behaviour and even visits places where dark forces roam as a kind of 'test' to himself. The avenging angel finds out the murderer's identity later, and the reason behind the murder was gradually revealed.. James and Jason had been two angels assigned to work together on the project of 'Love'. Because of this, the both of them eventually really fall in love(yesh, neil gaiman's stories are twisted but that's why they're gd). Then, James starts working on another project called 'Death' and begins to neglect Jason.. Jason is hurt and lost.. He thought that if he killed James, he wouldn't have to feel the hurt anymore.. And so Jason murdered James, to his regret.. When Jason had finished his confession, the avenging angel grabbed hold of him and Jason was turned to dust, hence completing the mission.. That was when Lucifer who was very affected when Jason was turned to dust, questioned outloud, " Should he have been dealt with in this way? He had -loved-.." Lucifer then cried the first tears, and left saying, "I need to do some thinking on this."
The book doesn't say that's how Lucifer decided to turn to the dark side, but that's what we're supposed to presume.. Damn good book, it even tells of God having an ambiguous conversation with the avenging angel after, and of how God may even have prearranged everything - even that of letting Lucifer witness Jason turning to dust. Thought-provoking story right? It's all the more cool that it's in the form of a full-coloured comic.. Go read it! Erm.. I'll let you know the title of the book as soon as I come across it again..*haha*
