Yoz~ Went to watch Eric Khoo's "Be With Me" together with Hamizah after sch today. I've watched a no. of local films before this one, but as for art house films such as "Be With Me", I can only say I watch them... But I wun exactly be dying to watch another after that. Heheh. I still very much pref Jack Neo, whom I will approach for sponsorship for my first movie production(shush no comments fr u!), coz I refer to him as my godfather - we have the same surname ok! I also belong to the 'Liang Jia Ban'.. Lolz. I seriously liked his movie "I Not Stupid" =)

"Be With Me" basically consists of 1 main plot and 2 subplots. The main plot is about an old lady who is blind as well as deaf, and her getting to meet another old man who is lonely like herself. The real life story of this old lady, Theresa Chan, is what inspired Eric Khoo to film this movie. The subplots include that of a kind but insignificant security guard who's secretly in love with an beautiful woman who works in the same building like he does, plus that of a lesbian relationship between 2 teen girls.

The plot about the security guard is the most ridiculous one.. He stands between 2 busy roads in the night to watch the beautiful woman from her window. I think what is being portrayed is how a big guy (in terms of size) can turn as lovesick as a little kitty.. Lol.. I quite like how this was brought out becoz the burly security guard becomes likeable coz his inner self can be soft and tender, e.g. he struggles to write a letter to profess his admiration for the woman. The ridiculous part is a girl who attempts to commit suicide, jumps off a building, lands on this guy instead and kills him off. Someone help me ask Mr Khoo out for afternoon tea, and we may be able to talk this out.. Haha.. But perhaps the point is to make it disturbing.

I cannot tell if any sparks had been supposed to fly between the old lady and the old man.. Hehz.. The old man actually had a wife who died, which is why he is seen to be lonely in the movie. Then through his son, who's a social worker who visits the old lady, he himself gets into contact with her. Falling in love at an old age is less heard of than the case of young people falling in love, but I think this movie makes the expression of love between old people all the more glorious.. One scene shows the old man silently dropping tears, while the old woman senses it and puts her arms around him in a hug..

Finally, I think the plot regarding the lesbian relationship is my prefered plot out of the three.. That's becoz, I just feel the most for the girl who had her heart broken. First, Ezann Lee and Samantha Tan were shown to share the sweetest times together, then Samantha avoids Ezann and goes to find a boyfriend.. This leaves Ezann utterly lost and miserable. Ezann Lee acted well in my opinion. The film may likely make you hope to see Ezann and Samantha get back together; it will make you put aside some biasness that you may have with regards to homosexual relationships.. Samantha Tan is said to be Eric Khoo's new 'muse' for now.. Means his 'source of inspiration'.. I think it's more like, she's just someone for him to amuse himself with for now lah.. Haha say ppl so bad.. Cannot liddat =P Anyway, Hamizah was joking "I want to be somebody's muse..", and I was saying, "I want to be the somebody who has a muse.." Haha~ Futhermore, we were also joking that since Eric Khoo simply wanted 2 ppl to act as 'sweet young things' in sch uniform for him, he cld have just come to MI to talent scout since we're ready-to-go 'innocent schoolgirls'.. Hahaha..

All in all, it was an ok-ok movie to me.. Can't blog too much.. I will have to go! See ya thenz~

We know life's hard, truth is hard, lies are hard, they are all hard to accept when they have been found out, and i'm rushing history homework on the Abyissian Crisis about Italy and Abyssia going into war and that the League Of Nations cannot stop this from happening, and beacuse they are formed by means to stop war and peace-keep the countries together, they have thus failed to achieve that. I think i tend to hold a class for history instead of telling you about me, i'm basically a what subject-realted lover (humanities) and thus I am more analytical and critical about things, and likes to study about dead people, haha. lol. it's history what can you expect and also geography, it amazes me. I really like it alot, so what have you? Again to find this answer you need to enter into your own reality and reflect




it's amazing. amzing how people change the way of things, like how I used to hate outdoors in Band felt it was a complete waste of time, i've acquired to like it more, i guess people change, their thereotical means and applications in life just goes on into a new direction, and see things in another perspective, i guess- it's all in the mind. It really amazes me how these comes into action, from someone so pessimistic has changed his own view of things, and thus my friend is scoring much better, being more optimisitc and not think of his old way of suicidal thoughts, which are pretty daunting. and thus we need to see things, in another light, another perspective and another new way, to enable us to open up our minds, and make more new things, the new way it is. done with the old back with the new
