Play Cum Movie Day! / 11:42 PM
[ Play Cum Movie Day! ]
Heyz! Posting this in a hurry so hope I wun sound too rushed.. So, today the class of 04B4 went for a play "Separation 40" @ the Esplanade. And as u can guess, it's a play that's abt the separation of S'pore and Malaysia which is a joint-production by the Necessary Stage and Dramalab. I find that it's an average play.. Didn't move me very much.. The cast acted well, and I thought they were cute acting as children in flashbacks and stuff. But all in all, it isn't a production that I wld rave about and remember for very long after watching. ^^
Also, there was actually this short session whereby we as the audience cld get to chat up wif the cast plus the director etc. Well.. I find that, looking at the members of the cast right, they sort of seem like they are acting all the time you know? As in, not all of them perhaps, but it's particularly one chinese female(her name's yanyan).. Well, the cast joked a bit among themselve during the interview and all, like push push arm a bit here and there.. The chinese woman esp still seemed dramatic under normal circumstances when she's not acting =.=" Guess that's what happens with some actors maybe, acting becomes too great a part of them or sth. This is juz a tiny observation.. Hehhh.
I also got an "Initial D" handphone accessory(which is a handphone strap really) from a shop selling movie souvenirs at the Esplanade. I had my eyes on it for some time already.. *I just can't take my eyes off you~* -___-" Juz wanted to have an item of remembrance of the movie, other than the movie itself which I re-watched on my com. Vcd is out already.. So dun accuse me of piracy or anything..:O Haha.. I'm not going to give myself away..*whistling* =P
Last highlight of the day: I watched "Night Watch"! It's a movie abt vampires and it actually outshone Spiderman 2 at the Russian Box Office(oh, and it's a Russian movie too). Critics say this movie is a combination of the Lord of The Rings, the Matrix, Constantine and what have you.. In other words, they somehow think the movie's messy and has too many special effects. But naw, I dun think the effects are too many. I dun find the movie that great but there are good moments. Like there was this funny scene:
A mother is going about the kitchen, busying herself with many things, then her son asks her, "Mum, what are vampires?" "Vampires?" The mother goes, busies herself somemore. "Well they're children who suck the life out of their parents."
Haha.. Funny huh..
I like shows about good versus evil. Shows like that give you a take on the world we live in too. But I now think I will give "Night Watch" a rating of 2 stars over 5. Yet, I had come out of the cinema after the show saying, "Hmm not bad not bad. " Lol. That's so like me..
